Hello, right minded drivers

New here. Nursing every last drop from a too luxurious Toyota Highlander. Too many miles left in it to trade now, but eyeing a gas sipper next time around. Want to see what everyone else is driving and the experiences in the "real world."

FYI, V6 2-wheel drive, logged every last tenth of a gallon added in five years along with miles travelled. Overall avg. with daily 3.8 mile commute (one way) and annual 2000 plus mile trips with half a dozen 400 mile weekenders is actual 20.3 mpg. Vehicle's computer shows slightly over 1 mpg higher. What's up with that, Toyota?

First, welcome to GS!

The fill-up method is very inaccurate, and the vehicle's computer estimates the amount of fuel injected. In the end, it evens-out. 1 mpg over 5 years is a good estimate.

It's great for you to join to try to squeeze every MPG out of what you have. It's possible to hypermile any vehicle -- you just have to modify a few things. Browse the site, and feel free to ask any of us any questions you might have. Good luck!

If you are beating the epa you are doing good. Welcome to the site. There is a few ways to gain a few MPG on the site.
