Welcome to the forum. You should easily be able to improve on 22mpg.There are several things we do to get better mileage, such as higher tire pressure, grill blocks, warm air intakes, etc. Mostly it's the way we drive that makes the difference.Rather than to say " 22mpg IT currently gets" or " IT is capable", it's more like " 22mpg I get with it" and " I am capable.
I've managed to get better mileage with my car, but if the average person drives it, most of the gain would fade away. I'm sure you see people rushing up to a light having to brake hard to stop.Braking is about the same as pouring your gas on the ground. It's hard to see everyone on the road passing you,but you'll get used to it.The easiest thing was to start switching the car off at long lights and restart when you see the other direction go to yellow.
Good luck and remember to enter your car info into the garage and post your mileage over time. All the little things will add up to overall better mileage.
