Hello from the UK

I'm an American living in England that has recently brought a 2001 Smart CDI (799cc turbo diesel) back to England from Koln, Germany. It took a few months to get registration in the UK sorted but I've ran it since Christmas and I'm starting to get used to it. I don't know what to expect on mileage but would guess 80mpg (US) would be a good run. I use a few minor techniques to help improve mileage but hope to get a scan gauge in soon (found some Brits that got one to work on the older Smart diesels) to let me know what I'm doing right or wrong.

I have a background in building race cars and engines so I can keep up with most in a conversation on just about any aspect of cars. I'm also laid back so for this forum I prefer to learn from everyone else for now and will work my way in is as I go. I have a lead foot and I'm hoping you can help me get the lead out.

Cheers,
Randy
North Yorkshire, England
