Hello from Cookeville TN
Hello everyone! I'm Don and I drive a Fiesta with the 3 cyl. Excited and intrigued to see just how many mpg I can get out of this car!

Welcome. Is that the ecoboost? What power output? I am interested in this engine myself, in the UK it is rated at 76 MPG but I just cant imagine a small petrol powered engine getting that kind of economy. Keep us posted!

Wow, impressive mileage. Do you calculate manually or use the cars MPG display?

All entries have been calculated by hand. I've found the indicated to be 2-3 mph too generous on average. With one fillup it was almost 6 mpg too generous!
Also I've not done any hypermiling. Just have one ~300 ft drop and climb on my commute that I coast down. I don't shut it off at stoplights either. Just basically follow the posted speed limits and gentle take offs.

43 MPG isnt great, but it's not terrible. I guess the car is still breaking in, but im sure you'll get over 50, maybe 60 MPG soon.

Considering it is new, an average of 43 mpg is pretty decent. I do expect it to increase though.

My four cars in a row have gotten their lowest fuel consumption from the beginning.

It was the same with mine. My fuel consumption was very poor for the first 10,000 to 15,000 miles. Now im on 56,000 and I get about 30% better fuel consumption than I did when the car was new.
