Yea I guess. Im assuming it has a basic torque convertering 5 speed? Those trannies are so basic and inefficient, im suprised they havnt been banned by now. I guess they are cheap and reliable though.

4-speed auto, torque converter, yadda yadda. I could nitpick a few things about it, but at the end of the day, I have to say it's one of the better of its breed too. My wife's Rio also has a old-school 4-speed auto and that thing is a disaster. Next car is definitely gonna have three pedals again.

Yea for sure. If I had to drive an auto, which I wouldnt, but if I did i'd insist it have at least 8 forward gears.

8 seems a bit overly complex and expensive, not to mention busy and perhaps approaching that law of diminishing returns? Six seems fine. That's how many gears I like in my stick shift

Depends, city driving maybe it's too many, but on the highway, the revs will pretty much be at tick over, so economy will be great. My diesel only has a 5, but diesel's don't need as many gears. The revs on mine are just over 2k at 70 MPH (seems to get better economy at 70 MPH than at 60 MPH)
