Hello everyone. I'm a long time reader of the forum just joined today. I've owned this 93 civic since 2005. The odometer had 180k miles when I first picked it up. It wasn't until last year that I actually looked into details of the engine and discovered it wasn't a d15z1, but rather a D15B. The chassis and vin# is a VX for sure, with light weight vx wheels, manual window, mirrors and rear diffuser. I had been getting really poor mpg until my discovery of the engine model, then swaped out the P07 ecu for a P28(Si model) and the car ran great, but still average about 35-38mpg.
recently I added a vacuum gauge after i was 100miles into the tank and changed up my pedaling behavior. wow.. what a difference it made. my last fill up I calculated 42 mpg! 340 miles and about 8.1 gallon fill up
i will continue to work on this daily driver for gas saving purposes while learning more from this forum. thanks for reading
