hello

Hello. Usually my goals are to try to keep a motor together whilst pouring more air and fuel through it, so this site gets to me to having to think the other way around. Currently I am driving a small truck and trying to change my driving habits to get the most miles out a tank as is possible . I see lots of ideas on here and having been trying some of them. Some very interesting aero discussions and links.

Welcome

Welcome to GasSavers

What kind of truck/engine/transmission do you have?

Let us know if you have any specific questions, and have fun looking around!

Actually it was the plate # on John Milners car in American Graffiti and it is associated with THX1138 as I believe that Lucas was involved with Graffiti. It (thx1138) show up in lots of stuff associated with Lucas. Anyone remember the cartoon Pinky and the Brain - it is in there too.

When I was watching it last night there was a line in it where some of the chatter over the radio said "I think I just ran over a Wookiee."

Yup. THX-1138 was Lucas' first movie and a flop. American Graffiti was the hit that restarted Lucas' career, so the license plate was an homage. It's also the origin of the name of the THX sound system that was introduced in the first Star Wars.

Here's infinitely more on the movie ...
