Greetings from speed crazed Southern Cal

Hi Folks!

My name is Paul and I've been hypermiling for over a year. I drive a 2007 Yaris hatchback and I'm obtaining a consistent 54 mpg on surface streets with the occasional 66. I don't do freeways and therefore, fall victim to the command signals on my 80 mile daily commute.

I used to be one of those drivers who was the first to leave the traffic light behind only to race to the next. Not anymore!

You can imagine my inner smile as I coast by those who, two minutes earlier, stomped on the gas pedal when they went past and then had the kindness to trigger a light for me while they waited .
