Talking Converted Gas Saver - finally found his crowd

Hello all -

I have been tracking my fuel consumption for a few years and post it pretty regular at http://www.fueleconomy.gov.
I can't wait to see what kind of information I may be able to glean from this forum and what I can add to it. I've been reading posts for about 3 hours, from guys with Metro's. I'm not a fan of the metro in the style department, but I like what it can do. Anyone own a Scion round here? Looking for ways to improve the ignition system.

Peace, Love, and Chicken Grease!

Welcome. Is that the paint scheme of the Xa in your Avatar? Don't forget to add your car to the garage.

What's wrong with the Xa ignition system?

Welcome to the site. I'm an admirer of the Xa / Echo 4-door hatch that we had here in Canada. A couple of years ago I actually test drove the Echo hatch (I never test drive cars).

As for your concerns in "the style department", don't worry, we'll soon have you cured of that. Duct tape and cardboard await your car!

You might scare him by talking like that.

Welcome to the site.

The Yaris has the same engine as the Scion xa and xb so there are quite a few of us here. The engine basic design is the same but there may be some differences, for example is the xa throttle by wire like the Yaris? The Yaris also has electric steering so that helps with FE.

I see you are at 25.2 avg mpg on fueleconomy.gov . That is a bit low for the Scion Xa. After a few months here, you will be in the 30's for sure.
You must add your Scion to the garage ASAP.
