Well drove around in the VX Sol a little today and its a blast to drive..filled up with a full tank of gas, can't wait to see what mpg I am getting, we'll see, my hatch could go about 115 miles on a 1/4 tank but that was also a 10 gallon and the sol has a 12...so i'm just gonna cross my fingers and hope for at least that..i only have 17miles on this tank so far :-P

Drove threw a car was just to get some of the dirt off...today I am going to give a good scrub down or 2 its still really dirty, then clay bar, some scratch remover and then some wax...looks like a long day...plus I might start prepping the wheels and VC for paint...ugh

Also seems like I have a brake leak too which I will have to address..the pedal starts to sink and the pass caliper looked a little wet...hopefully i just forgot to remove the old washer gasket and its a simple fix...well here are some pics from this morning....

So decided I'd top off the tank today and see how the mileage was...only 118 miles and she took 3.323 gallons...average of 35.5, not to bad since I still need and alignment, got the steelies on instead of the Hx wheels and a bunch of other upgrades I have planned...also I've been driving it pretty hard since its been on the road! I'm sure driving with the top off all the time isn't the best for MPG but I'll take 35 for now and build from that!

Thanks!! I still have some small things to do...and my motivation is starting to lack lol but I'm pushing on to get it where I want it! I just hope the MPG numbers keep getting better....

*The Del Sol has a weird flow over the car...I noticed if I am crusin with the roof off and the windows down the air seems to hit you in the back of the head...anyone have any insight for me on this I assume its caused by turbulence that is created by the roll bar or the shape of the car...

Glad to see this car running and together, though it was fun to drive without the interior and exhaust.

Compared to the acceleration of my VX I would rate this car just about the same. To the nay-sayers who thought the Sol was too heavy for the VX motor to push around, you're very wrong (though i doubt it was anyone on this forum).

I think the avg. mpg for your sol is just about the same as my civic, but with the aero mods you're planning hopefully it'll out-do my VX soon.

... i dont think it was anyone here... most of us know the sol frame weighs as much as the hatch frame...

Well squeezed 400 miles out of this last tank, drove it till it went to the E just to get an idea of what I could do...well took 11 gallons...so still a little lower mpg than I am hoping for 37...but I am happy with that for now, I think the old tires I have on the front temporarily aren't holding air to well so I will check to see if they are still at 40psi or not...
