Welcome to GS! I'm not a VX owner, but as you can see, you're in good hands. I actually had MPG info going back 2-3 years before GS, but the thought of entering it was agony (and the MPG wasn't so great either).

I have experienced with that whole headlight being on aswell. If you want the buzzer on your VX you can get a piezo buzzer at RadioShack and hook it up to the fuse box. I"ll try to find that site, but I don't have to keep worrying about if I turned the lights off.
