Been here a while

Just bought an a ford escape phev. It's like unbelievable fuel economy. Way better than what is listed. Edmonton to Terrace way there was 6.2 liters per 100kms. Way back was 4.7 just from common hypermiling techniques. Not real serious hypermiling either. I did a trip fishing 45kms each way on a fully charged and did it all on electric. From Sept 8th to November 15th the first snow in Edmonton and once just a couple of days ago in the city Dec 5th at 26 liters. Car said 2 liters in the cold weather and the November fill up said .6 liters per 100kms. Unless it's a fishing trips to BC Just simple gas saving tips.

That's incredible fuel efficiency! The Ford Escape PHEV's performance is astounding, particularly when considering those hypermiling strategies. You seem to have perfected the art of efficiency! I hope you have many more eco-friendly travels in the future!

Thanks

They are good right now in the winter and it's -20 out shows 1,8 liters per 100kms. I am plugging it in during the night. It doesn't include remote start time. When it's plugged in to the block heater it generally starts on electric. Idle time is not included in that figure. I am travelled 256kms on 15 liters of gas which is all city. 5.8 liters per 100kms. My Elantra plugged in would be 13 even when brand new. My old toyota echo in the winter was 13liters per 100 in the bitter cold. 28 liters to travel 210kms Short city driving. When roads were okay and not snow covered, I took the car for a drive to warm it up. When doing the 16km trip on both cars gas mileage was about 9-10 in the bitter cold. Gas now is 1.27 a liter at Costco in Edmonton now. Calculator saving 28 dollars. I am tired but I know when working was driving 210kms a week filling up once a week. -29 it was about 26 liters for 180kms. Saving 110 dollars a month. Now barely driving. I am saving huge on the short trips
