BBC film

I'm a BBC reporter based in London who's interested in making a film for the news about hypermiling in the UK. Does anyone have any contacts, websites that would help me find some people to film? Many thanks.

Yeah, I've seen that clip.

What I meant was that I'm sure Clarkson would have zero patience and nothing charitable to say on the subject of the kind of hypermilers who hang around this site.

I echo that sentiment -- although in that episode he considered his attempt at hypermiling, as exhaustive and IIRC, similar to concentration during a race.

But yeah, he's not much for fuel efficiency. I remember he cracked a joke that if we all shaved off our mustaches/beards (if applicable), we'd save 100's of Liters of fuel in weight savings per year.

BTW, if we can't find any UK members, would the BBC fly out a North American representative of hypermiling? I can't think of anyone right off hand. I mean, if nobody steps up, I suppose I could squeeze it in my schedule.

I was in Scotland until about 6 weeks ago!

I would have been up for this (if the BBC had lent me a Toyota Avensis D4-D, because I got 90+MPG in one of those while doing 50-70mph
