Another Yaris

Hello everyone, I just wanted to introduce myself and learn more on trying to save gas. I got a Scangauge II device about 2 weeks ago, to monitor my fuel usage.

Hey there!

What all are you doing now to help reduce consumption?

Holy Yaris

Wow, the Yaris has really become popular with FE these days!

Thanks guys!!! I'll definately take a look at the FAQ section.
For the most part in trying to lower gas consumption, I've been trying to slow down, taking it easy on the throttle, and trying to use cruise control when possible.

yarii

man, they just keep coming, for people who truly want to save money in buying a new car, the multiple yarii configurations seem to have it going for them, spartan as they may be. Money talks. (I am still gunning for a few fit owners)

The cruise control came from factory already.
It came with the power package I got.

First thing. Stop using the CC. Learn to load drive up hills and bleed off the throttle going down hills. This will lead you to mild P & G. Your FE skills will start going up fast. Raise the tire psi a little.

Watch what your CC does with your SG. You will beable to do 30% better with in a few days.

Read the FAQ's. Vist a few other FE sites. You will find we are generly one big happy family across many websites.

my friend has a fit with auto trans. a really nice car but he paid a lot of money for what it is, (about $5000 cdn more than my yaris of similar trim-he's got auto and a few more airbags).
i would get him on this site but he doesn't have a huge interest in fuel economy as his company pays for his gas (he uses it for work 90% of the time)
