98 Civic LX Sedan

I found the site yesterday and been reading and clearly see I can get much more out of my car with some simple changes.

My 98 civic I bought about 18 mo ago. It now has 62K miles. I typically get 27.5 mpg in the city which I believe it's rated for 25 mpg.

I'll begin by adjusting my driving practices and probably a tuneup in the next couple weeks. Thanks for all the information everyone is providing and I look forward to spending a bit less at the pump.

Welcome to the site! Make a garage entry and gaslog for the car, excited to see your progress.

Welcome to the Site

Welcome to GasSavers

The Garage and GasLog feature of the site is a great place to track your progress and show any mods you've made

I see you're familiar with the site -- stickies in the General Discussion area provide some tips and tricks for getting started.

I had a '97 DX Coupe and a '99 Si -- both great cars. Your Civic should provide you with some great FE.

By the way, is it the 5-speed or Automatic?

Enjoy the site...

It's an automatic. I picked it up with 52,0000 miles for $5500 about 18 mo ago. It's in great shape and everyone can't believe it's a 98.

Posted my first 2 gas logs. These trips arn't typically for me as they was mostly highway trips but I've never gotten above 33mpg on the highway before.

I'd say in a week's time I'll have a log of full in city driving. If i hit 30+mph with the changes in driving style in the city I'll be estactic. I usually get ~27.

You've probably already seen that the Scanguage II is a favorite item, especially if you're starting with an unmodified car. I'm surfing eBay for one right now.
