65 Year Old Newbe 95 Metro 3 Cyl 5speed Dallas Tx

Ola Ya-all,

I am fairly new to hyper mile have had 3 metros in last year.

My 95 2DHB 3 cyl 5 speed was acquired 1 year ago.

I immediately took her on a 2 week 3000 mile trip.

During the trip best tank got 48 MPG.

In the winter I get 41/42 MPG driving 50/50 highway/city no A/C.

In the summer I get 36/38 MPG again driving 50/50 highway/city with A/C.

I am in the process of doing the XFI cam mod.

If the cam mod works out I will be looking for a taller transmission/rim combo.

I live on disability income and am retarded.

Thank You For your Time And Patience,

Wayne Rich in Carrollton TX

welcome! sounds like you have a great car and great plans for it!

interesting that you take a big hit in summer on your fuel mileage. i've had 2 different 4 cyl vehicles that yield better efficiency in summer even considering a/c usage. i would think most would have the same result.

my guess is that you either have mild winters or that 3 cyl engine REALLY struggles w/ a/c. i believe most of the members here that have them(3cyl vehicles--metro/firefly) live in the northern US or live where a/c is not a "necessity."

best of luck. i look forward to seeing you in the top 10! put your car in the garage so we can follow your results.
