Bug (I hope) in setting/changing Time based reminders

If a reminder is set for a time, use 3 months as an example, and I edit it to a different length, say 6 months, the due date that was in place when I opened the edit function does not change to reflect the new setting. I have to manually change the date.

I hope this is a bug and not the way it is intended to work.
