Backdating Purchase Record

I've tried to edit the purchase record for when I first bought my car, but it's not accepting the odometer value and won't let me save the record due to validation errors.

I'm guessing that it's because the odometer value is less than the previous known value, but if the app lets me backdate a record than it should let me use an earlier odometer value.

See attached screenshots - there's a valid entry showing the temporary insurance purchase with the correct odometer value and date/time; the validation error seems to occur when I try and set the correct odometer value on the purchase record.
