Just bought a scangauge from Amazon for $139.99 shipped.

EDIT: too bad the display will not show MPG readout for a 1997 ford ranger

But as soon as I get my next car (hopefully a civic) it will work great!

ScanGauge will help your MPG's a lot. I wish I'd gotten mine for that price but would have cost more to drive without it waiting for a better price.

My experience with SG is it reads MPGs too high. It is not accurate. I use it as a relative indicator rather than an absolute one.
