Isn't the term used to describe accelerating down hill and coasting up "Pulse and Burn"?
That is the same strategy I find works best for my truck. Just have to watch the pulsing part so that your MPG doesn't drop below target MPG and that your speed doesn't drop below what you can recover during your next pulse +Gravity, and try to stay within speed limits and fellow driver tolerances.

I haven't heard of "Pulse and Burn".

Pulse and Glide is a common term, and describes a group of strategies where you accelerate and then coast repeatedly. It would include accelerating down and coasting up.
