engine on coasting, a question

I was wondering about engine on coasting on the civic vx, or any other car that has "lean burn" mode, lean burn kicks in when it's in gear, above idle, clutch engaged, right? so in theory it would use more gas to coast with the clutch in, and the engine idleing, then it would with the car "pulling" the engine alone, right?
I was doing a little bit of foot off gas coasting on the highway today and it was incredibly smooth, you could feel just the slightest drag disapear if you pushed the clutch in, but it was hardly noticable.

I honestly dunno, but someone (matt) should get a supermid and hook it up to his vx engine and figure out for us.

Or you, for that matter.

While I cant speak for the VX, I do know that the Insight goes into lean burn during idle. Since the VX also has lean burn, perhaps it does the same?
