Yamaha R1 & YZF-R1, same bike why two groups

I noticed that the Yamaha R6 and the R1 is split up into two different groups even though it is the same bike. Can the Yamaha R1 and YZF-R1 and the R6 and YZF-R6 be combined as one group? It is a lot better when you can compare your bike to more people. The R1's official name is YZF-R1; but everybody just calls it the R1. So far there is only one group for the YZF-R3.

I was looking at other bikes and I came across another brand that was split into two groups even though it is the same bike, but I can't remember which one.
