I revved it to full throttle yesterday (to get out of someone's way) and found it to be the exact opposite of disappointing. Yes, it has the right oil in it, I asked the dealer what they had put in it, and they answered 20W50. I will switch to Mobil1 V-Twin 20W50 at my first oil change though.

Ciliegia, our GV250 is carbureted, and I never try to force 'DFCO' on her. It would do something dirty, I suppose.
Teresa is fuel injected though, these F650s have been FI'd since 2000. Later Hyosung switched to FI too, those newer 'single barrel' GV250s are Euro3 compliant (AFAIK Teresa's generation is only Euro2 though, BMW made a twin spark revision of the F650 GS and CS in late 2004 or so to meet Euro3).

my valkyrie has 6 carbs, and fuel economy goes out the door if I ride aggressive. easy on the throttle, and I can get 45 mpg, heavy on the throttle could be low 30's.

Strange decision from BMW, as this 650 had twin sparks when it was introduced in the 90's (on the first 'F650 Funduro'). I didn't know they switched to single spark and than later on again to dual spark.

@Jay: I was not sarcastic a all. It's not because I'm a Honda-freak I should hate Harleys. They don't attract me, but I can imagine some people like this kind of bike. And I respect your choice.

If I remember well, a few months ago you asked how far I can go at FE on this relatively short commute. Finally I had a tank where I had no trips longer than 30km (my commute is 25/27km one way, depending on the day of the week), in summer, warm (hot in the afternoons) and dry weather, heavy Pulse&Glide all the way, FASes where approppriate.
You can see it in my log: the result is 2.66l/100km (88.5mpgUS)
I may be able to do better, but that would be more scientific Or, at least, slower. P&G with large delta could work (starting my pulses in 3rd or 4th gear and going up to like 100km/h in 5th), probably, but needs even more care for the other vehicles I meet

I can only say: 'congratulations'. My best results are a few 4,2 l/100km. I found this very good... Compared to other bikes (VFR800, VFR1200, FZ1) it actually is. They are in the 6 to 7 and + zone. But compared to you I need to be humble.
