my friend told me that they dropped the rsx not only cuz it was basicaaly the saem as the civic but also that they moved the team in charge of the rsx to work on the formula 1 car that honda has gotten back into a few years ago. no idea if its true or not but seems valid as it happened at around the same time.

I doubt it... Formula 1 versus street technology are two entirely different animals.

The Civic Si that came out in '06 was longer and heavier than the RSX Type S, and did not offer Leather. However, the powertrain was identical, and it was cheaper. Honda wanted to move Acura more upmarket, and they saw that the Integra, and later, the RSX, were cannibalizing Honda sales.

Personally, I would love to know that the 2011 Civic will be like. I expect the Si to have a 2.0-liter version of the turbo motor in the Acura RDX. Nearly all of the Si's competitors have turbos (VW GTI, Volvo C30, Mazdaspeed 3, Dodge SRT-4, Subaru WRX, Mitsubishi Lancer, etc.) The only ones that don't are the Nissan Sentra SE-R and the (not-so-sporty) Toyota Corolla XRS.

the 2011 civic si will be exactly the same as the previous models . The new generation civic is due for 2012.
