I always thought some cars need "vertical front lasers" at the tip of the bumper that shoot straight up like the Luxor in Vegas.

The quality record check the NHTSA's site , you'll see some pretty *quality* marks getting in deep with some pretty hefty recalls . Yes Toyota , Honda , M-B along with all of the others ...not one without a black mark iirc .
Too bad you didn't check one out - the '08's are going hatchless along with a full even more milquetoast design and I believe a 5 cyl Volvo engine option ( one saving grace in my eyes - not that the current offerings are bad )

It's not a bad looking car per se, but it's not a Focus, even if they badge it that way. Gives me a Chevy Cobalt/Mustang wanna be feeling.

Exactly the point there om the F3 , it's *not* really a Focus ! Take a Car of the Year design and you back it up with a milquetoast redesign then give it an "All New" look by rehashing whats obviously a melding of other cars and eliminating some of the real virtues of the car . Lets hope that the suspension is a winner .

Not lasers but some JDM cars have little retractable power antennas on the corners of the cars. Maybe not as OE, but as factory options. They aren't actually antennas, but they pop up and down like them so that the driver can see the corners of the car. Pretty cool.
