I personaly wouldn't buy a tranny just because I know the vehicle history, my current car had a great history, but the tranny had a bad bearing, so what did I do? I bought I low mileage tranny, and befor I handed over the money I checked the part that is most likely to show signs of wear, the main shaft end play, and because most junk yards offer a 90 day warrenty on transmisions I kept the recept, and to me that is better then knowing the history.
