Restored 1992 vx $5500

Putting the feeler out as the car comes closer to completion. Not much left to do now for the car to be 100% complete. It is just easier to go through my restoration thread than to detail every improvement made on the vehicle, but needless to say, it is a very nice car.

http://www.gassavers.org/showthread.php?t=9198

Recap on what's been done:

Full suspension rebuild, lowered a little on tein s tech springs and tockico blue struts.

Front brakes serviced, new brakes in rear (drums/shoes/hardware)

Full body restoration

Rockers are por15 treated, inner quarter panels are also treated.

99-00 civic si front and rear seats, reupholstered door inserts, reupholstered head liner, new carpet.

Rebuilt transmission, almost new clutch and axles, new exhaust from the header back

New O2 sensor,

All stock federal, with A/C

New Pioneer stereo/speakers.

It will be ready for release in a few weeks as all the details are finished.

First dibs come to this community. The car will go on ebay with a $5500 reserve if it does not sell here first.

Reason for sale is I'm moving on to the next FE project, an 84 crx chassis.

Easiest way to contact me is through email.

Nice job on the rebuild. It sounds like you have more than $5500 of labor invested in this car.

OMG, trade you my VX and some cash? (although I have almost no, cash, lol) too bad, seeing as I live really close to you as well

Good luck with the sale, you might want to contact Vtecn8ive on here or on MNSC as he might be interested in the car.

All car projects seem to end up costing more than the final product, as this one has. Thanks for the kind words.

Tom, we can always square away yours.

All it really needs is some rocker loving (read: weld in new sheet metal) since the replacement quarters are kind of hanging in there.

We could always try to schedule some weekend time (when our families don't have us tied up, lol). You have a welder right? I have some spare sheet metal.

Re: Restored 1992 vx $5500

What kind of paint was the car sprayed with? Is it a 2 stage paint base + Clear or is a 1 shot paint?

Nice work!

Re: Restored 1992 vx $5500

It's basecoat, tinted clear, and clear coated X2. (factory style tricoat) It's a very good match to the jambs with no nasty overspray.

Tom, (As I''m getting an earful from my spouse about all the other projects that need to be completed) Yes, I've got a gas mig, although I'd suggest doing yours like mine with 3m panel bond. It's a better way to avoid the potential rust at the welded joint. It's expensive at $100/tube (I think) but it's just about the only way to never reintroduce rust to a patched panel.

We can do it when the weather turns.

Re: Restored 1992 vx $5500

Very nice rebuild, its like buying a vs brand new. the only problem is that its hard to get what you put in (time and money), in the end its still a 20 year old car for 5500. have you thought about driving it for a while then selling?

in many areas in America, there are 1st gen prius's that sell for about 5500 with 100k, after bargaining. good luck with the sale
