Is it worth it?

Saw a 1994 VX at a dealer for $3450. Could only view pix of it and talk to a salesman.
Looks nearly perfect. 145K miles; no apparent rust or bubbles; clear history; factory alloys; could use a buff job, that seems to be it. No warranty.

Your thoughts? This is a dealer price so it'll naturally be higher than private...

If it's in your budget and you follow THIS buying guide, then you'll be set.

Kelley Blue Book lists retail at $4,285. KBB lists private party excellent condition at $3,130.

KBB.com.

If it's got A/C then it's REALLY worth it. If the buyer's guide quoted above is followed and it's perfect - then go for it. May want to talk him down a little. $4000 cash may work if it's got no defects. Used car salesmen work on commission.

Check KBB.com and put in your own zip code.

Talk them down to $3,000. They want to sell just as much as you want it.

Cash in hand does wonders. offer 3400 out the door (meaning they take tax, title, reg, doc, etc out of the 3400 rather than adding to it)
