Geo Metro XFI for sale

So, you say you want to drive a sipper, eh? How's 50+ mpg, stock sound? I have a Geo Metro XFI I am selling in a quick sale. I want to move it out by Wednesday March 5th at 9PM Pacific time. I am asking $3000 obo. Go to https://reno.craigslist.org/cto/4355272715.html this craigslist listing to get all the info and other links. I have a photobucket page that has almost 70 photos of it. It is very clean and has 92k original miles on it.

Rick

You posted your manage ad link, not the link for the actual ad.

Craigslist flagged my post and cancelled it for some reason:
Here is the new post: https://reno.craigslist.org/cto/4359122274.html

What's wrong with 50+ mpg? The only other non-hybrid car that gets better mileage (stock) I believe is the Honda VX, right?

It was a long time ago, and I guess it probably is in the US. But there are diesel cars that can do almost double that now. Take a look:

50 MPG is nothing to sneeze at in the real world. 50 is even great for a road worthy 2 wheeler.

Not sure how they are getting these incredible numbers? Is there some kind of new testing procedure performed in low gravity conditions?

Well lab conditions are very different to real world conditions of course, they only go up to 40 MPH for a start. But the 99 MPG figure was apparently achevied on an empty race track, again, pretty unrealistic but to be fair, road conditions are similar here, empty roads with 0 traffic. I think I would be able to get close to those figures given the chance.

Euro emission regulations are the main reason, getting stricter and stricter, the easiest and quickest way to emit less carbon is to simply burn less fuel.
