For Sale - 1996 Escort - 11,000 Miles - Charleston WV

Okay - just a LITTLE bit of a teaser - because I don't have full details on this vehicle yet. It is red, and there is going to be an estate sale June 12th and this vehicle is part of it. It has about 11,000 original miles and is apparently in pristine condition. Not sure if it's part of a silent auction or not.

I don't know if it's a hatchback or sedan, all I know is red, 11,000 original miles, automatic. Yes, 11,000 miles. Apparently it is currently driven.

KBB is about $2000-3250 for the range of Escorts for this particular year. If you are interested, PM me and I can see about helping arrange a purchase.

The vehicle has been described as a "family heirloom" and in pristine condition by the seller.

I'm trying to help someone get ahold of a great deal if I can here. PM me if you would like to be put in contact with the seller, although it would likely have to go through me as I am local. I am willing to test drive the vehicle if I am allowed to, etc. One of those rare deals you never hear about until after the fact, but hopefully I can help someone out.

'96 would be the only year you can get OBD-II in a lighter 2nd gen Escort, Cd for the hatch is .34, frontal area is low. Auto's in these are relatively efficient compared to some cars, it's a 4 speed electronic automatic. Should have 200,000 miles plus life in it if it's kept cool and gets fluid changes. Engines barely wear at all on these years. Sounds like someone will get an amazing deal.

I remember The RoadWarrior..To understand who he was, you have to go back to another time..the world was powered by the black fuel & the desert sprouted great cities..Gone now, swept away..two mighty warrior tribes went to war & touched off a blaze which engulfed them all. Without fuel, they were nothing..thundering machines sputtered & stopped..Only those mobile enough to scavenge, brutal enough to pillage would survive. The gangs took over the highways, ready to wage war for a tank of juice

Did you ever find out the details on this sale? Has it sold yet and if so do you know what it brought? About 15-20 years ago I went to an auction where there was about a 15 year old Pontiac with extremely low mileage. The body and interior were good but it had not been garage kept so the paint was nothing to brag on. I bid up to $3000 and I think it ended up going for $5500 which I thought was a little steep. After the auction I got to thinking about the age of the car and wondered what all work might need to be done to it before it would be road ready and was really glad I got out bid.
