Civic VX Gear Set

I used to own a Civic VX. The ISB in the transmission exploded, destroying the main shaft and the bell housing. All of the gears, including the diff are in excellent shape.

If you've got a D-series tranny, some of these gears may be desirable to swap in.

The ratios are:

1st: 3.250
2nd: 1.761
3rd: 1.066
4th: 0.853
5th: 0.702
FD: 3.250

These are not quite as long as HF gears, but still excellent for mileage. Make me an offer on the parts you want. The countershaft is still assembled and I still have a few other tranny goodies left:

how in the world did you

how in the world did you bust an input shaft? I've never even heard of people with 500+ d-series breaking these things

The input shaft did not

The input shaft did not bust, but it was mauled by the ISB exploding. I cut the end of the input shaft off to make a clutch alignment tool, since the input shaft was already trashed.

Thanks for the bump. UP!

What would be a fair price you give me for it? It'll take me a little while to disassemble the countershaft (at least a week until I can get to it), as I was planning on just selling the lot of the stuff all at once.

Bunger: Do you know if the differential and 5th gear are usable in an 89 DX. Also, do you know if they can be changed without pulling the transmission, or if the whole transmission has to be pulled?

You have to pull the whole tranny to get at the gearsets - especially on D-series. The interlock bolt is inside the bell-housing. I wouldn't want to imagine chanigng gearsets with the tranny still in the car.

I'm not 100% sure these will work in a 4th gen tranny.

The gears will. I'm going to talk to bense (from h-t) about putting my cx/vx guts in an std housing so another EFer can use it, should be doable, I think.
