yeah, it sounds like junk, basicly what you are getting is a car that someone else ripped appart, and bolted an engine with problems in to, he said outright that the wiring is hacked to bits, the inside is a mess, the whole car is a mess, first step for someone buying a car like that would be to undo all the "work" this guy did, and start from the ground up.

But you could prolly talk him down to 150-200, and to think, if you're really serious about having a beater car to get good mileage, and you know what you're doing, you'd be set.

I know my way around these cars very well, and I personally would be very weary of starting in on a project like that, even if it was close enough for me to drive home. In my opinion, it looks like it's only really worth about what he's asking, therefore it's not really a smashing deal.
