Why American cars suck

I've often wondered why some people in the states are so loyal to the native brands, despite them building terrible cars. This video pretty much sums it up perfectly.

Interesting but somewhat difficult to understand with the combination of speaking too fast, accent, pronunciations of various words.

You think? I found it easy to understand, but in the UK we are more than used to foreign accents haha.

I too didn't have any problems understanding what was said. What he says about the US car industry is exactly what happened to the UK car industry. That is why we no longer have one.
Most of the cars considered British are wholly or partly foreign.
Mini: German (BMW)
Jaguar: Indian
Rolls Royce: German (BMW)
Bentley: German (VW)
Lotus: China
Land Rover: Indian

I still can't get my head around the fact that were once around 400 British car makers at one point, not even that long ago, 50/60 years back?

It's very challenging to believe 400 car makers anywhere but especially in the U.K. given its smaller size geographically.

Adapt or die, if a manufacturer has disappeared, there's usually good reason. Now the US brands are being bought by the European brands and turning big profits for the first time in years. I can imagine in the future, there will only be 3 or 4 big companies who own all the brand's. VW Audi is already huge, then you have PSA or Stelantis, and then maybe Toyota will be part of Kia/Hyundai.

I've never had a problem buying foreign. I'm cheap, hence my name "kuripot". I buy what I think is the best deal. The F150 ford is still king in the USA though. I have one but it's almost 20 years old. The Accent served me well but I finally grew tired of driving it. I like the Mazda. I bought my wife a Honda.

F150 is a US pride. I have been a fan since I was a kid, more specifically the Raptor. If not for fuel economy, I have chosen a Raptor. Well, my brother got one and we'll be building it as a weekend toy. Waiting for the tire mounting and alignment to finish this week and we'll ready for the off-road trip.
