What do you think of this layout?

I'm thinking of making a few changes to the site. Here is one of the changes I am thinking of doing:

(click on image for larger view)

<a href = "/files/gassavers/layout/full.jpg"><img src= "/files/gassavers/layout/small.jpg" target=_blank></a>

The big change can be seen in the upper right corner:

<img src = "/files/gassavers/layout/new.jpg">

Also notice the removal of the navigation block on the left side.

What do you guys think?

Gaslog is in the same place on the main menu.

Yeah, silly autocad. I guess that's the benefit of working from home, eh?

In the new layout look on the grey toolbar, on the righthand side. The "recent posts" link just moved.

My whole goal is to remove clutter. i'm kind of a minimalist at heart. I'd like to remove all of the boxes if possible on the side and get a nice simple layout.

In my opinion simple is always better.

White walls in your house with a single picture hanging centered on each, Matt? Haha, that's pretty much how I'd like it (I'm an extreme minimalist), but my fiance is one of these people that loves different colored rooms and wild stuff. You know what they say...opposites attract.

Actually, no. I have colored walls. I'm really into earth tones. I have a decorating style that blends asians with "earthy." Lots of wood, lots of browns/greens and a few reds/blues. Primary colors are better than mixes imho.

BUt I also try to reduce furniture. FOr example, I'm going to get a big dresser for the wife and I to share instead of our two dressers now. I also want one of those washer/dryer units that stack on top of each other instead of the two seperate units. Oh, I want a tankless water heater b/c it has zero footprint.

White walls scare me
