Ding ding ding! Consumerism is starting to become a subjectmatter of interest for my art projects at university. It all started with that dang videogame: The Sims. So much blatant consumerism it's hillarious. The plasma screen TV has a 'fun' factor of 7 while the B+W one is only 2
. I just find it so interesting that we're a society that bases happiness on mere material objects.
That being said, I LOVE my new mattress! I'd invite all the GS members over for a sleep over, but I think it might break... Just kidding!

There's always a demand for furniture. People around here love sales and the latest fashions. My mom gave me her old oak kitchen set she bought brand new 10 years ago and bought a 'chic' new set for her condo (which I find a bit odd since my mom used to have an eye for classic, and disliked contemporary or post-modern). Also people are really drawn into the whole "Do not pay until 2009" or the "get a free LCD TV with this furniture purchase". It's really no different than the people that buy new cars every 3 years.
