Grass fed beef may be nice in the sense that it does less environmental damage, but it requires a lot more room and isn't sustainable at all when considering the world's current meat habit. Then try to figure out what would happen if every country started eating meat like we do...think of the pollution problems that china would develop!
It's not that the production isn't sustainable (at one time, cattle was wild before it was called cattle) - it's the consumption rate that isn't. It's okay though Corn prices fell, so we'll plant more corn next season to compensate o.0

It's funny you mention China developing pollution problems http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Environment_of_China But, at least it's considered a "priority" - whatever that means

SVOboy, I saw this post a while ago but was unable to post due to log-in problems.
I always suspected you were vegan with the 'VeganPowa' slogan that you use.

I too am vegan. ( and environmentally friendly )

I'm on vacation at my folks, so I am using their computer to write this since my computer died a a couple of months ago.

It's good to see that I am not the only person that is veg/vegan here.

I meant to post on this a while back. I'm vegetarian. I was a vegan but having to support 3 of us on an organic vegan diet is impossible on a $200 month food budget. I will occasionally eat meat but it has to be something thats really good. I'm veg'n because its healthier. My wifes permanent allergies went away as soon as meat was dropped from her diet. My Dad's diabetes and high blood pressure is completely gone also.

i use to be a meat-a-saurus. only things i would eat was meat, dairy, and bread.
an odd piece of corn would also suffice.

lately i have all but given up meat, epically red meat and pork. i now have about 1 serving a week of lean chicken. besides that, its all fruits vegetables, protein powder and tofu deliberativeness.

Omnivore...meat preferrably felled by my bow or taken during various hunting seasons. Rule at our clan is if you kill it (on purpose) you must eat it, I do not "sport" or "trophy" hunt. I passed on two does yesterday (within 5yds) because they were yearlings. I'm a conservationist as well....

I do like a tasty salad next to my squirrel and gravy tho
