Today, I saw a non-idiot. He came up behind me quick as I was getting off the highway, but he didn't tailgate. When we were off the highway on a four-lane road that shortly merges into two lanes, he saw that I was not going fast and took the opportunity to pass me legitimately. He passed me properly and without waiting or tailgating first, sans BS.
As for climbing lanes, this morning I paid attention to how a climbing lane on Route 395 in CT was marked. It had double white dashed lines.
