this is what broke for all that i can tell im gunna have 2 days off so im gunn pull the shocks off and hopefully the swaybar/rocker arms off to make sure there not broke but this is the only piece that broke off.

Boy, that is strange. I'd have thought that the spring clip plate (see the left side of your illustration) would hold everything together enough.

First off. SWEEETTTTTT car!!!!!

Next... Ya, anything brakes there and that wheel is moving. My guess is you might have bent the spring also. I cant see the pic of what broke, but I would check it ALL out real well. Its a old car, and if one part broke, others may be close behind it. Also check to make sure the ujoints did not bind up when it broke.

ooh, looks like your differential blew up. (is there fluid in there at all, most people forget to check that). have fun swapping in a whole new rearend.

talked with my friends dad whos a mechanic and he saidit was just the bearings gave looseand the hub forge to the shaft.

the bearings on the rear passanger side were torn to up and half the balls were flat, so i cleaned out the area where the axel/shaft came out of looked at the shaft the bearings did no dmg to the shaft or grooves/threading. 3 knocks got the hub/brake drum with a rubber hammer got it away from the axel/shaft with ease. Ordered the part seal + ball bering and low and behold i had the rarest ball bearing of them all set me back $80 for one bearing, luckly my friends brother is a mechanic and he is showing/making me do it for free.
