Potential FE vehicle?

Came across this Suzuki Jimny. I've heard of people swapping in VW enigines into these. Can't remember if the TDI was included among those. Either way should yield nice MPG numbers even with stock engine. Beyond that it's not a unibody. It has a truck like chassis. If one was very ambitious they could rebody or chop it in a more aerodynamic style. Would be limited by the height of the engine I imagine. If I had the time and money it's something I'd like to do someday. Just thought I'd throw the idea out there to all you other car enthusiasts.

I'd be very cautious about importing a vehicle such as that. You're likely to pay more for the shipping than you do for the vehicle, and you may not even be albe to register it here in the states if the Japan model didn't meet the same US standards for emissions and safety. One of my employees wanted me to check on shipping a car to Poland for them and it was going to be about $5,000. I certainly woudn't pay almost $8,000 for that. You could buy a very nice used FE vehicle for that much.
