Nintendo Wii
I finally broke down and bought my wife a Wii. It's a fun game system, but I feel like most of the games are kids' games; I haven't found any fun racing games for it yet. However, some of the kids' games can be quite fun.
I am wanting to buy a PS3 when Gran Turismo 5 comes out. Does anyone here know when it comes out or why it is taking so long? Until it does come out, does anyone here know a good racing game for the Wii?
Thanks.

Mario Kart is pretty fun... Its the only racing game I've played on the Wii. I play --a lot-- of Guitar Hero. I have almost every version of the game made for the Wii.

I've played Mario Kart. I actually prefer the "battle" mode from the N64. A bunch of my friends played it in college.
I do like Wii sports and the Raving Rabbids game series.

I hear you. The N64 was far better.
Just dug out the Nintendo, might have to dig out the 64 as well.

can't you play N64 games on the wii? I have a wii but didn't get into the N64 so I don't really know.
one suggestion though is the new wii fit plus. it isn't a racing game but it is fun. the golfing is actually pretty realistic on that one (much more so than the wii sport) and the obstacle course is pretty fun too.

I don't have any N64 games, but I think you can. The only stipulation is you have to use the N64 controllers too.

The Wii can play Cube games, which are 3in discs. The N64 was still using cartridges. I haven't tried using a Wii controller with a Cube game, but some Wii games, like Smash Bro. Brawl, will use the Cube controller. A N64 controller might even work.

the wii shop channel lets you download popular classic games from all the past nintendo systems including 64 and sega and others. but you have to pay for them which can range from like 5-20 dollars that ive seen. but for games from the 64 or cube you can buy the wii classic controller or plug in a cube controller to the side ports to play.
