We could sure use the GHZ. Beer and Cheezy Poofs are always on the house. OOOO if your running any Conroes or X2 get them SMP. The points are great.

Living in Oklahoma it seems most are Jr. Meteorologists. Have done more than my fare share of storm chasing. Have ran for more ditches in my life than I care to remember.

Im lucky. My wife accepts my hobby's. A happy hubby at home that works his butt off is a man that doesn't run around. She knows we can only be men so long. And loves the boy in our hearts.

Hey sounds good! I've always been looking for a team to join up with over the course. Geez, it's been over 3-years now, 965 work units, and too many burnt-up boards to count, but it's been worth it. I'll switch my team to "32" (same username: rh77)

My Wife just razzes me because I'm always messing with something (under the hood, with the computers, or on HAM net meetings). It's all in good humor

I guess I'm not much of a nerd. I know nothing about computers. All that I really know is that my Macs pwn (I hear that that's newspeak for something) any windows machine I've ever used.

I'm into plants and have quite a few cluttering my room, does that count as nerdy?

I am also very into sound and consider a poorly produced song to be grating. You already know that I do what I can to save gas and try to bike everywhere.

I don't know, maybe I am a nerd. I don't really care. It's just a label

It's basically a computerized simulation of Protein Mis-Folding that leads to diseases like Parkinson's, Alzheimer's, Cancer and others.

The concept is a distributed computing system similar to SETI at home...

The Stanford University Gene Folding Project.

PS: Psy -- you guys are really hitting the mark on work units! Very impressive...

I do somethign similar with Boinc. I process work units for climatepredictions.net and seti@home. Unfortunately, the climatepredictions info won't work on a Mac, so I'm only processing things very slowly on my PC that is rarely used.

I'm not surprised.... but I don't think they're worth a look at with nessus. Not with tor/privoxy around. I lost any and all respect for that douche when they used their admin status to edit my posts and leave snide remarks in them. And banning The_Devil, he definitely knew his isht. I guess anyone with half a brain may eventually see through all the doomer porn and poses a risk to the "credibility" of the site.

Way to go RH77. Stop in to the forum and say hello. I'm sure everybody would like to to meet you and welcome you aboard.

It appears Stanford released the Win32 SMP beta today. So if you have any dual core or multi cpu rigs it should work for yeah. Fine tune the clients and stomp on the OC's.... ITS TIME TO FOLD LIKE YOU STOLEm!!!!

I use to crunch seti in the classic days. I held on for awhile when boinc came around. Didn't really feel like being a guinea pig for boinc so I took the door out and got into folding. Deep space mapping just didn't mean much to my cpu cycles. The weather prediction thing sounds good. And if the cures are ever found I may move the the weather dohicky.

Be it folding or seti overclockers.com would love to have you on one of there teams....

I think the nerdiest thing I'm into right now is fuel economy. Most people understand the concept of building or rebuilding a computer and overclocking for faster performance, but making a pickup get better fuel economy is like tracking UFOs to most people: "Good luck!"
