Moving from 20+ miles to work to under 5

Yep, after looking around for a bit I found a cheap room for rent near where I work. The house is in a really good neighborhood with many places to eat and shop in walking distance. Anyways, it is a huge 5 bedroom house and with rent split 5 ways it equals out to very little per month. I guess I could bike to work now, but it is dark and freezing at 7am so maybe in the summer.

See the top window. That's my room.

You can see pictures of the neighborhood here:

Yeah, the house is huge. It says 3,800sq ft on the allegheny county site.

Looks nice. Is there a safe place to leave your bike on the ground floor?

I haven't moved in yet but, yes 3 or 4 blocks. I think my MPGs will suffer with the move. Driving all urban will probably give me mid 20s mpg, but I will be saving a lot on my overall transportation expenses.
