first off if you have enough speed to remotely loose traction in the snow your going to fast to begin with.(unless you know what your doing/havin fun etc)

tires do make a HUGE difference in all directions. used to be easy as hell to slide around with my old firestone tires but now that i have new primewell tires it takes effort to slide. both were labeled as M+S tires with decent lookign tread...

Had an LSD in my Bronco, Explorer, and a few other cars, the one I notice it the most is in the Solstice. Only spun the tires 3 times in 70K, burned up my rear tires from parking garages. The fronts are still stock and at 50% tread, will replace before winter, but the rears died at 60K. The LSD is great in the snow, Iv clawed my way out of some drifts, bad roads, and ice patches. Im sure it effects MPG in some way, but most off all I scrub off my rears snaking up parking garages, U-turns, and endless pararllel parking in D.C.
