I just made my vx a little more green

It's finally back on the road. I replaced from the taillights to the door on both sides, and a lot of the rockers. It's the first car i've painted myself. It was dark blue, now light metalic green.

Good job! Keeping a car on the road longer pays huge benefits in reducing CO2. Lots of energy is required just to make the car.

Big kudos for fixin a VX, the king of low tech mileage!

You guys know a lot of energy is put into making a car, but do you know how much energy? Here is a hint, the manufacture of a new 2008 Prius emits about 10 tons of CO2, while a lot, is not nearly as much as most people think when they hear "a lot". To put 10 tons of CO2 into perspective, it would be like driving a 1998 Lexus GS400 for 15K miles, averaging 18mpg (new epa rating), releasing 10.4 tons of CO2 according to fueleconomy.gov.
