Huh? Porsche ad touts fuel economy.
WHAT is the world coming to? This morning I saw a generic newspaper ad for the entire Porsche lineup. The tag line was "Less is more".
Not surprisingly, the first line talked about their racing heritage, hinting at weight savings for performance gains.
What surprised me was the mention of fuel economy in the next line: "Even our cars not designed for racing are winning with less fuel consumption and more built-in quality."
Huh? Of course no attempt is made to quantify what this means exactly.
I think it's interesting that the ad agency and/or Porsche figures they can leverage consumer sentiments about conservation, or making do with less, to sell these cars in particular.
