Hmmm....the Corvair, no great loss. I had two of them back in the day, rather flimsy cars that threw oil everywhere and rusted out the front floor pans really quickly, and that was in Southern California! My Chevette was 10 times the car the Corvair ever was!
For a high school kid in the early '70s, Corvairs had only two things going for them...
1. They were one step above a Rambler in the high school parking lot pecking order...
2. In the days of bias-ply tires you could break the rear end loose going around street corners...lots of low speed fun...
Had a Comet like the one shown...2 door hardtop...paid $100 and a bottle of wine for it. Drove it for five years, traded it to a friend for a Honda 550 bike, he managed to kill it within two weeks!
