I've always wondered, if they are going to promote x product at x amount off the price, WHY DON'T THEY SIMPLY REPRICE THE DANG THING and save all the paperwork and hassle??? It must be because of the failure of a significant portion of rebates.
Because it is a fact that they only pay out 25% of rebates. Most people dont send them in. The ones that do mess them up in some way alot. Others are just ignored by the company and forgotten by the buyer. Ever wonder why it takes them 6 to 8 weeks to print a check? Because by then you forgot.
ALWAYS make a copy. Front and back of the form too.
I think you are right. I ended up buying a total of 80 bulbs and using various addresses to get my rebates sent to. Mailed them all but didnt get any back yet.
Right you are with the slow build up. I took that into account where I installed them. In order to reduce as much electricity, I figured these ought to be put in places that tend to get left on longer than lights in other areas.

I purchased (8) 13 watt bulbs today for a total cost of 15.96, after rebate FREE. You must purchase the bulbs by 12/21/06, and mail in the rebate by 1/21/07. Limit of 8 bulbs per household. Shop Lowe's for the bulbs.
You can printout the rebate form, and get more info at www.lowes.com
My check arrived today, so the bulbs cost me one stamp.
menards has 13w sylvania soft white compact florescent bulbs for $2 each, no rebates (normally $5 each). I like the light color on these (3000 K color temp), a coworker has some 13w feit electrics that put off a pale blueish color , but these sylvanias are closer to incandescent bulbs . They are on sale thru march 11 I think.
