Family Carpooling

I was wondering if anyone has noticed an increase in carpooling within families lately. We started about 4 years ago and to be honest now it just seems the norm for me to have to wait around for the spouse to get out of work, it used to just make me mad to have to wait for her to finish a project though she was technically off the clock. We were lucky enough that the wife was able to adjust her hours slightly and I make my own hours for the most part

I know a lot of people work in different directions from their significant others but a lot of people don't. The local bus system in this area has taken off quite a bit too but to stick to the original question - Have you noticed an increase? Would you consider it if you work in the same direction and have similar hours (within an hour or so overlap).

a buddy of mine just got out of the air force. well it has been about 7 or 8 mos. we have been riding to work together pretty much since then unless he knows that he has to work really late. he has pulled some 16s.

he is living with me until he finds a descent place of his own. if he finds a place close, we may still ride together when he moves out. my wife works in a different direction than me. I used to drive an hour to work and she would drive a good 20 min in the same direction. we moved and now I drive 30 min and she drive 12 min. we did that about a year ago before gas got to be an issue. we did it more because it added 2 hours to my day.

My wife is going to school at the college where I work, so on days that she has class she rides in with me. If I knew that when I chose the VW, I would have gotten a wider vehicle...it's too tight for our fat asses.
