donate to gassavers??

I was thinking of doing this a while back

where does the money go? who gets paid? how will it help?

what are the benefits to the donatee? I know about the "no more adds" which may be really nice. I am just curious. this site has helped me save around $500 in the past year. maybe I could give a portion back

Very rational approach. Makes me think of Islamic tithing for some weird reason, even though the comparison isn't really accurate.

Would donations be tax deductible? I wouldn't think so.

besides ad elimination you're "supposed" to get a pretty blue or red star next to your name based on amount donated.

never got mine! just as well i suppose. i qualified for the red star, so w/out it i won't be misinterpreted as a commy.

Thanks for the heads up. I fixed it. If anyone is missing their star, let me know. I'm still trying to help figure out how this works, but I think it's automagic as far as deleting ads when you get your star and I add you to the appropriate usergroup.

The money goes to help keep the site going, and if you like giving back, that is a good thing and always appreciated.

I'm working on getting bumper stickers for those who wish to get them.

I will look to see if we can add additional star colors, etc.

If anyone wants to donate to the site, we are currently trying to raise about $500 for software upgrades and add-ons. We are now 10% of the way to that goal thanks to one particular member. Thank you to them, since they know who they are and did not ask for any public kudos.

If you would like to donate, please PM me privately and I'll get you the e-mail address. Any donation links currently up will not reach me - you have to PM me for it. We'd love to get the new software and get this going better!
