In my youth, girls flocked to guys that actually HAD a car, or specifically, one that ran and had gas in it. Later came all the Dating Game stuff. In the end, though, shinyer is betterer.

The bait you use depends on what you want to catch. Alternately, dangle what you got and see what nibbles...

"theclencher" hits the nail on the head (again). My wife wants a different car, not at all concerned about FE, I've tried steering her towards a Civic or Toyota hybrid, no luck.

Probably end up with another SUV like she has now...Ford Explorer, 12-15mpg on a real good day, downwind and downhill.

point her toward the toyota or honda small-mid size SUVs. For a 900 mile business trip I drove a 06 highlander AWD V6 (bigger optional one...3.7?) get decent mpg carrying 500 lbs of meat, 550 lbs of gear, doing 75-90 mph (~25+mpg) and had plenty of balls at that speed. any/all domestic SUVs (or even some of the largest import ones) get bad mileage.
as for do girls go for it....your question should be how easy it is to find them and more importantly, if you want to go for those girls

Kinda like "theclencher" said earlier, she doesn't seem to notice gas prices, when I start talking FE she tunes me out, etc. She fixates on these damn full-size SUVs, "like all her friends have". Ford, GM, etc....NOT a Honda, that would save too much money on fuel.

I `spose if they bought Hummers, she'd want one of those....have to fill it every 30 miles or so! Clencher's right....women are different critters...I've been married 24 years, still don't have `em figured out....

My girl friend says the charity work and my vegetarianism is one of the reasons why I'm a keeper

She also tells me to never ever pick her up in the Geo
